SAF-T is a file for taxation purposes also known as a "Standard Audit File." This file contains reliable accounting data exportable from an original accounting system for a specific time period, and easily readable through its standardisation of layout and format.

Benefits of the PSE SAFT Tool:

• Provide revenue authorities with easily readable data designed for tax compliance checking
• Present data in a standard file which meets SAF-T guidelines
• Documents can be generated from a set of monthly or yearly periods and can include sets of modules defined by the user for each file generation

The specific SAFT-PT format developed in Portugal by the Associação Portuguesa de Software (ASSOFT - Portuguese Software Association), in collaboration with the Direcção Geral de Impostos (DGCI - Taxes and Revenues), as recommended by the OCDE, is also provided by the PSE SAFT Tool.
